2018 Blackjack Block 6 Shiraz

2018 Blackjack Block 6 Shiraz

Tasting Note:
Crimson red in colour. Darker summer fruits predominate,
with some mixed spice. Palate is crisp, highlighting a core nucleus of dark fruits,
raspberry and cherry ; a savouriness adds complexity and
depth. Fine grape and French oak tannins adds structure and finesse.

  • Silver Medal : 2021 Great Australian Shiraz Challenge.

  • Campbell Mattinson Wine Front 92pts :This is a rich, generous release but it’s well-strung with tannin and for all its jubey, licorice-laden fruit sweetness it offers a gentle curl of herbs too. Plums, rich and ripe. Vanillin oak, creamy but set well into the wine. It delivers flavour (and warmth) in spades while at the same time keeping itself neat.
  • Jeremy Oliver 91 pts:Fragrant, smoky and mineral, with a fresh, faintly peppery bouquet of red, blue and black berries knit with cedary oak and backed by a hint of charcuterie meats. It’s long, brightly lit and vivacious, with a juicy and slightly minty presence of vibrant fruit knit with smoky cedar/vanilla oak and supported by a fine, loose-knit slatey spine. Wrapped in a lively acidity, it’s a pleasingly spicy central Victorian shiraz of attractive elegance and style.
  • Huon Hooke The Wine Reveiw 90 pts:Deepish red colour with a good purple tinge; intense pepperminty nose, vibrant and intense, fresh and bright. Underlying pepper and spice. Intense and tight on the palate, incisive and enlivened by bright acidity. A tight, fine shiraz
