We describe this as our “Monday-to-Thursday wine” – a delightful, medium-bodied style for everyday drinking.
VINEYARD: Made by BlackJack from Shiraz grapes grown at Blackjack Vineyards and another local Harcourt vineyard.
WINERY: Fermentation took place in traditional open fermenters, with hand-plunging of the cap ensuring complete but gentle extraction of colour and flavour. The wine was matured in a mixture of new, two-and-three-year-old French and American oak barriques.
Again, another Chortle’s that arguably over delivers at its price point. Medium to brick red in colour . The aroma is redolent with cherry and red currant, with a hint of mint in the background. Elegant mid weight palate ( not unlike the 2011) with clean vibrant fruit flavours on the palate.
The aroma is redolent with red berry, cherry aromas.
Lip-smacking sweet red berries and plums on the palate: rich, flavoursome and soft. A delightful Monday to Thursday wine that over delivers.
Suggested Cellaring: 2-4 years
